Mom and I have been working on the lantern every afternoon and night since yesterday, and I can say that I couldn't have done it with all her help. It would have been so much harder.
It was a really funny attempt though.
It was already on my third attempt. I blow-dried the balloon again to get it inflated while mom went to light another candle. She shouted at Michelle during the 2nd attempt because she went under the balloon, and the flame could have fallen on her at any second. Hello, second-degree burns. Haha.
I was holding onto the lantern lightly, and it was funny, because I thought Ate Nini was holding it up higher from the other side. Little did I know that it was already flying. I felt my heart pounce. It went up, up, up! But of course, because of the wooden grid roof we have over our front door, it got stuck there. All of a sudden, the flame went crazy, so there were sparks flying up the roof, finally, the lantern was up in flames. Ate Nini was able to catch it before it turned into ashes. There were bits of ashes and fire flying around everywhere so I had to cover Michelle from the scene. It was crazy, haha.
There were small flames near the door and the window, and it took a while for them to blow out. My lantern was brought to the grass, where it burned there. Then, Ate Nini dunked water over it, and that was that.
It was great that I got it to fly, although I wished it hadn't had burned down so I wouldn't have to make a new one altogether. Ohwell.
I went crazy. Haha.
I seriously should have filmed that.
